Capturing Today's Moments: Creating Tomorrow's Memories

October 2009 - Daily Photos
Read MoreOctober 6, 2009 I joke about it - but seriously - I am terrified of the things.
I was walking into the kitchen to unload the dishwasher and make homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner. As I walked into the kitchen this - THING was scampering towards me. Well I screamed, jumped and took off running. I made it about 3 feet when the muscle I injured a week ago while jogging (small tear either in my achilles tendon or my calf muscle - Doc isn't sure which without an MRI) froze in a ball and I almost fell to the floor in pain. I did manage to get a shot of this beast - AFTER Emily trapped it with a wire waste basket - and AFTER I called Ian at work and he was on his way home to rid the house of it. Yes - I am that terrified of them. Silly I know - but we all have our fears.
3 motrin later the leg is feeling a bit better again, my blood pressure is back to normal and this - critter is once again alive and living the high life - OUTSIDE - where it belongs.

on October 10, 2009This sounds so funny - but I know it it is not because you have badly injured yourself - we have similar little fellows around our house - a bit smaller - they are called geckos here - the eat all the insects. Hope you are much better - I do realise I am late with this.

on October 7, 2009LOL, I know what you mean, I hate spiders...if it is in my space it is a dead spider very quickly. Love the shot and the poster. Take care of that leg.

on October 6, 2009Hilarious! Not that we like to see you in pain, but I'm sure this rates right up there with my fear of snakes and spiders ;-)

on October 6, 2009I'm sure it's freeky when it's in your domain, but I like this creature a lot (then again: we only have them in the zoo!). Beautiful composition on the height of fear: the background goes very well with its texture!
