Got a phone call NO ONE wants to get yesterday. Ian had taken Emily to her friends house late yesterday afternoon. They were stopped at an intersection waiting to turn right. Apparently a man in a huge Ford F350 pick-up had thought Ian was starting to go through the intersection and pushed on the gas. Well - Ian was NOT moving and this is the result.
Thankfully no one was hurt. It could have been so much worse if the man hit them with any speed behind him. He was VERY apologetic. Ian said he felt really badly about it. Ian will be seeing the insurance adjustor tomorrow and hopefully his car will be fixed soon.
We are also VERY glad Emily wasn't driving. She had asked, but it was starting to get dark and Ian said no. Ian said she felt really bad about it since they were out because of her, and was apologizing over and over - but we made sure she knew it was NOT her fault. She is a sweetie of a girl.

on March 11, 2009What a bummer to see this. I am happy to hear they are OK. I gotten rear ended myself but I was at a stop light instead waiting for it to turn green.

on March 8, 2009This has also happened to me, many years ago I was hit from behind and catapulted into the car infront for good measure! The important thing is that Emily and Ian were OK :)

on March 8, 2009That can be very scary indeed. Twelve year ago I got hit in a similar way... only the car hit me at full speed!
Good job they're both ok. She mustn't feel guilty... s*** happens.
