April 24, 2009 After three straight dailys of Emily - it is past time to post Kylie - my oldest. I have mentioned before how she normally HATES to have me point the camera at her. I was shocked when she readily agreed and let me take this and a few more.
Kylie..... Babe..... you're beautiful and I love you very much.

on April 25, 2009Hey, Jennifer. Sorry to leave this here, but I couldn't find an email address and I have to run shortly. I opened this in my editor and checked the whites of her eyes with the eyedropper tool. (how cool is that name for this little test?) I didn't write down any numbers, but they were not a neutral color - high in blue/cyan. Using the whites of the eyes to set color balance on portraits is an easy way to get everything back to neutral. When I used that to change the color balance, her portrait warmed right up and looked great. Hope this is helpful - feel free to delete my comments after you've read 'em. I'll check back later...

on April 25, 2009hmmmmm - maybe it is time for me to calibrate my monitor again? lol i don't see the blue. i do see that it isn't as warm looking as Ems shots - but Kylie's skin tone is paler than Emilys. I will have to calibrate again and see if I can see what you guys are. James - there is a halo. When I put the vignette around the shot it made her hair look really dark, so I tried to "paint with light" and didn't do it very well. It was late and I was tired and I got lazy. I noticed it as well - but didn't go back and fix it. Can't get ANYTHING by you guys! LOL
Does anyone else see a bluish tone?

on April 25, 2009Nice head-shot, Jennifer. Yes, Kylie is very pretty and should be proudly displayed along side Emily.
I do agree with Stephonie on the WB issue. The image appears a bit too blue/cyan to me. Also, since you'll probably take another turn at it in PS - there's a slight halo around the top of her head. Although, I'm guessing you'll probably say that's normal. ; )
